Digital Ethnography and Code as Ethnographic Artefact
Next Thursday, I will talk about Digital Ethnography and Code as Ethnographic Artefact at the colloquium of the Center for Social World Research and Method Development (ZSM). I am very much looking forward to discuss methodological implications of doing research with digital artefacts considering source code and algorithms. Erasmus+ Cooperation and COST-Action
From 9-11th December I had the opportunity to meet colleagues from the MA study programme Music, Communication and Technology (Trondheim/Oslo) as part of our Erasmus+ cooperation. Together with Prof. Dr. Angela Brennecke from the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF, we shared information about current projects and found a common ground on future cooperation in research and teaching.
In addition, I was invited to give a public talk on coding as creative-aesthetical and political expression. It was a wonderful meeting with exciting insights into existing projects and a great organization of the meeting. The meeting was publicly accompanied via the Twitter account of the master program. Autumn Conference of the GERA-Commission Philosophy of Education
From September 23 to 25, 2019, the GERA annual conference of the Commission for Philosophy of Education took place in Wuppertal/Germany. The conference was dedicated to the intensively discussed concept of the public sphere and provided an excellent space for reflection on the controversy and legitimacy of pedagogical spaces and orders. One of the key topics was to consider the pluralisation of publics as well as arising challenges of negotiating the public sphere(s) in the digital age.
I had the opportunity to follow up on my previous work and to discuss some aspects of coding practices against the background of educational processes and subjectivation entitled »Digital Publics Between Production, Reframing and Negation«.
